At least one in four commercial operators will invest in alternatively fuelled vehicles over the next three years, according to new research.

Some 26 per cent of those surveyed in the Asset Alliance Industry Monitor study said they plan to purchase emission-reducing vehicles in the near future.

Those taking part in the study included managing directors, chief executives and business owners in the road haulage and logistics sector.

Of those asked, 46.5 per cent believed their current plans not to purchase alternatively fuelled commercial vehicles could change by 2020.
