Transport for London’s lead sponsor for LoCITY has provided advice to fleet operators in a guest blog for Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions.

Christina Calderato recommended that fleets consider adding alternatively fuelled vehicles to their fleets and noted that they must also ensure they are compliant with the T-Charge that came into effect in October last year.

Christina said: “Low running costs and a 100 per cent discount on the Congestion Charge mean that electric models are often cost effective for cars and light commercial vehicles.

“The picture is more complex for heavy vehicles, with a range of technologies available, so fleets will need to consider which one best meets their needs.”
