Three major brands will take delivery of the first Fuso eCanter electric light duty trucks in the UK.

Delivery company DPD, logistics firm Wincanton and the bakery Hovis are operating a combined total of nine of the vehicles, which were showcased at a launch event in London last week.

The team behind the eCanter claims the 7.5-tonne trucks can achieve a range of close to 140km, and charging infrastructure provider Chargemaster estimates the cost of fuelling the vehicle at between 10p and 17p per mile.
