Grant for real-time emissions charging project
19th April 2017
A company developing technology to allow vehicles to be charged based on their actual emissions has been awarded a £1m grant.
Tantalum Corporation, which is working with Imperial College London on real-time NOx emissions estimation capability, received the funding from Innovate UK for its Air.Car project.
A 1,000-vehicle trial will start in autumn to test and fine tune the system, which the company claims would be a fairer and cheaper way of levying emissions charges.
