IRU: Co-operation needed to meet CO2 targets

16th February 2017

Efforts to reduce CO2 emissions from commercial vehicles should be linked to safety improvements and efficiency gains, according to a report from the International Road Transport Union (IRU).

While the IRU’s Marc Billiet notes the industry is “well underway” to meeting its voluntary commitment to a reduction of 30 per cent by 2030, the Commercial Vehicle of the Future report concludes that “dialogue and co-operation will be essential to enable continuing innovation” on a continental scale.

The full report can be downloaded from the IRU website.
