Scheme to support low emission tech

1st July 2016

A new scheme to support the introduction of low emission commercial vehicle technology has been confirmed by the Transport Minister.

Speaking at the 2016 Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership Annual Conference, Andrew Jones MP unveiled the new Low Carbon Accreditation Scheme for HGV technology.

It will provide information on a new procedure for measuring the operations of freight-carrying vehicles, allowing operators and equipment manufacturers to test the impacts of retrofit technology on fuel consumption and emissions.

LoCITY HGV Working Group vice-chair Andrew Lowery said: “LoCITY welcomes the launch of this technology certification scheme to help better inform fleet operators about how to reduce emissions, cut costs and improve air quality across London and beyond.”
