Black cab maker to produce hybrid van
The manufacturer behind London’s iconic black cabs has unveiled a plug-in hybrid van.
The London Electric Vehicle Company, formerly The London Taxi Company, intends the as-yet-unnamed model to compete with one-tonne, medium-sized diesel vans that undertake around 100 miles a day.
It will use a battery electric setup with a 1.5-litre petrol generator and will be built at the firm’s factory in Warwickshire.
Further details on the van are expected to be announced later this year.
