A LoCITY Champion is collaborating in a trial of geo-fencing technology that could see real-time air quality data used to trigger hybrid vehicles into switching to pure-electric mode.

Tevva Motors is working with Leeds City Council and other partners on Project Accra, which is set to launch in Leeds later this year.

The trial will use real-time emissions control technology to show towns and cities how they can reduce air pollution without additional charges to motorists or businesses.
