LoCITY survey of refrigerated transport using auxiliary units

6th April 2017

LoCITY is a Transport for London programme to lower emissions from commercial vehicles. LoCITY has commissioned Cenex and the LowCVP to investigate options to reduce emissions from auxiliary temperature reduction units.

Alongside and investigation of alternative refrigeration technologies, Cenex is also conducting a survey on refrigerated transport in the greater London area.  If you work in the refrigerated transport sector (as a driver, a fleet manager, vehicle supplier/manufacturer, vehicle converter or if you supply refrigeration equipment for vehicles), we would welcome your participation.  Our short survey is focused on refrigerated transport that uses auxiliary temperature reduction units (auxTRUs) in road transport in London.  ‘auxTRUs’ are refrigeration units with independent generators that are, usually, diesel powered.

We would be grateful if you could spend ten minutes helping inform this work by completing our survey here.

Cenex will analyse your answers to help assess the number of auxiliary temperature reduction units in London. LoCITY will use this information to determine how to reduce emissions from these units and mitigate their impact on the environment. Please complete this survey by the 25th of April. The research will be completed by summer 2017.

We may contact you if clarification is required (unless you ask us not to contact you again). All information provided will be kept in strictest confidence: results will be anonymised and only shared externally as summary data.
