T-Charge date set

27th March 2017

Traffic in central London

The £10 Emissions Surcharge, also known as the ‘T-Charge’, will begin on 23 October 2017.

It will apply from 7am to 6pm on weekdays in the same area as the Congestion Charge Zone. The minimum emissions standards, for both petrol and diesel vans and trucks, are Euro 4/Euro IV. This means no changes for those running trucks into London, as this is the same standard as the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) – but vans will now have to meet Euro 4 requirements.

Vehicles that do not meet the standard will have to pay the £10 charge, so it will cost £21.50 (Congestion Charge plus T-Charge) to drive a pre-Euro 4/Euro IV vehicle in the zone.
